Overview

Situated along the riverbed of the Makhutswi River, this intimate safari lodge stands within the 9,000-hectare Karongwe Private Game Reserve in Limpopo, framed by the distant Drakensberg escarpment. Combining warm hospitality with Pan-African style, this riverfront oasis blends nature and comfort in a laid-back, elegant setting.

Just 11 air-conditioned suites – including luxury, family, executive, and two presidential suites – stretch across elevated wooden decks overlooking the bush. The presidential suites offer private plunge pools and extended viewing decks, while all suites feature en-suite bathrooms, private decks, minibars, and tea and coffee facilities. Twice-daily open-vehicle game drives explore the reserve in search of the Big Five, led by experienced rangers and local Shangaan trackers. Afternoon drives are enhanced with sundowners in the bush, while walking safaris, occasional wildlife sightings from your suite, and a rim-flow infinity pool allow for a more relaxed encounter with the wild.

Dining is relaxed yet refined, with Pan-African cuisine served around the firepit in the boma or indoors in the river-view dining room.
