One of the newest additions to Quark’s fleet, the Ocean Explorer is a cutting-edge polar ship designed for immersive exploration with elevated comfort. Built in 2021, it carries up to 138 guests and features a sleek, ice-strengthened hull with advanced stabilisation for smooth navigation through Antarctic waters.
Cabins are modern and spacious, many with floor-to-ceiling windows and private verandas. Two outdoor Jacuzzis, a sauna with ocean views, and a panoramic observation lounge allow guests to take in the landscape between landings. The ship also features a fleet of 15 Zodiacs and a purpose-built water-level Zodiac embarkation platform for efficient off-ship adventures.
The Ocean Explorer focuses on active exploration with options such as kayaking, hiking, and polar plunges, as well as a full lecture programme led by polar scientists and historians.
