Overview

Nestled on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, this intimate lodge offers understated luxury with front-row views of the wilderness. A collection of eight safari tents and three family chalets lines the riverbank, with private decks overlooking a waterhole where elephants, antelope and other wildlife often pass by.

Each tented suite is comfortably appointed with king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and natural, earthy décor. The family chalets include two bedrooms, making them ideal for those travelling with children or in small groups.

Twice-daily game drives, guided bush walks, sundowners, and night safaris are led by experienced guides and trackers. Between safaris, unwind with a spa treatment, take a dip in the pool, or relax on the shaded deck with views of the riverbed.

Dining is a relaxed, sociable affair, with meals served alfresco on the riverside deck or around the fire in the open-air boma. Local wines and warm hospitality add to the welcoming, homely feel.
