Explore Cambodia as a family with a journey that combines street food, art, ancient temples and relaxed island time. This ten day adventure links Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Koh Rong, balancing immersive experiences with plenty of downtime for both adults and children.
Begin in Phnom Penh, staying at Raffles Hotel Le Royal. Discover the city’s everyday life through local breakfast spots, markets and street art, with private guiding that keeps things flexible for younger travellers. There is time to enjoy the hotel’s pool and facilities between outings.
Continue to Siem Reap for four nights, using thoughtful timings and routes to experience Angkor’s forest temples, Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom away from the busiest periods. Family-friendly highlights include a cycling morning through the temples, an evening at Phare Circus and a visit to the Apopo visitor centre to learn about the “hero rats” that help clear landmines. Finish with three nights on Koh Rong, in a spacious two-bedroom villa overlooking the beach, where days are shaped by swimming, sand and the easy pace of island life.

Day 1 – 2
Day 1 – Arrival in Phnom Penh
Arrive in Phnom Penh and meet your fast-track representative for a smooth arrival through immigration (visa fee not included). Your private driver and guide will then transfer you to Raffles Hotel Le Royal, where there is time to relax by the pool after your journey.

Day 2 – Good Morning Cambodia & Urban Art Discovery
Start the day with a “Good Morning Cambodia” food tour, visiting local markets and neighbourhood stalls to try traditional breakfast dishes and snacks alongside Phnom Penh residents. In the afternoon, head out on a curated urban and contemporary art tour, exploring street murals, galleries and finishing with a drink in a leafy bar featuring locally inspired artwork.

Day 3 – 4
Day 3 – Fly to Siem Reap & Phare Circus
Transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for your short flight to Siem Reap. On arrival, meet your driver and guide for a private transfer to Shinta Mani Angkor. In the evening, enjoy Phare, The Cambodian Circus, where acrobatics, storytelling, music and theatre combine in a family-friendly show.

Day 4 – Cycling the Temples of the Forest & Angkor Thom Sunset
Begin early with a cycling tour through the “Temples of the Forest”, travelling via Srah Srang to Ta Prohm, Ta Nei and Ta Keo, with a light breakfast in a quiet area of the park. After a break back at the hotel, explore Angkor Thom in the afternoon, walking between terraces and temples before ending the day with sunset drinks on an ancient waterway.

Day 5 – 6
Day 5 – Angkor Wat Sunrise & Apopo Hero Rats
Head out before dawn to see the sun rise behind the towers of Angkor Wat, then explore the central complex and detailed bas-reliefs with your guide. In the afternoon, visit the Apopo Visitor Centre to learn how trained “hero rats” use their sense of smell to help detect landmines, a memorable and educational stop for children and adults alike.

Day 6 – Free Morning & Tonle Sap Lake Adventure
Enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure in Siem Reap, with time to use the pool or explore the town. Later, travel by road to Mechrey and board a shallow-draft boat to explore the margins of the Tonle Sap Lake. Visit the floating community of Prek Toal, observe life on the water and round off the day with sunset drinks and canapés before returning to Siem Reap.

Day 7 – 8
Day 7 – Fly to Sihanoukville & Onwards to Koh Rong
Transfer to Siem Reap Airport for your flight to Sihanoukville. On arrival, meet The Royal Sands team for a private road transfer to the jetty, then take the scheduled speedboat to Koh Rong. Check into your two-bedroom oceanview pool villa and enjoy your first evening on the island.

Day 8 – Island Time on Koh Rong

Day 9 – 10
Day 9 – Beachfront Relaxation

Day 10 – Return to Phnom Penh & Departure
Take the scheduled speedboat from Koh Rong back to the Ream jetty, then travel by private road transfer along the expressway to Phnom Penh Airport (no guide) for your onward flight home.
